Leslie J. Pakianathan is a Chief Resident Engineer with Mott MacDonald Consulting Engineers. At present he is working on the extra high voltage cable tunnels project between Seraya and Labrador.  He has over 27 years of experience with contractors and consulting engineers that covers design and construction supervision of underground structures, project management and research & development.

He has  contributed to major civil engineering projects such as the Victoria Dam Hydroelectric Project in Sri Lanka; Docklands Light Railway Extension,  Channel Tunnel, Jubilee Line Extension, Heathrow Express Railway and Cross Rail in the UK; and Strategic Sewage Disposal Scheme Stage 1 in Hong Kong. He is passionate about tunnelling and has published technical papers and given short courses on tunnelling and shaft sinking.

He is an alumni of the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, UK and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK.
